Interview with: Akhtya Nachttoter By: Blissfulviolet

Blissfulviolet: Black Funeral has been around for quite sometime now,
give us some insight on the origin of the band.
Akhtya Nachttoter: The band has existed since 1993 or so. I have kept
the project alive for so long as it has always meant something to me and
plan to continue accordingly.
Blissfulviolet: Is there a certain
message or propaganda that you
feel Black Funeral represents?
Akhtya Nachttoter: The
luciferian spirit, the darkness of
the mind. Black Funeral is not
Satanic for the sake of it, rather it
is methodical and based in an
ideology of the Adversarial spirit.
Blissfulviolet: Describe Black
Funerals sound.
Akhtya Nachttoter: Cold,
violent, lycanthropic, apocalyptic
and machine like.
Blissfulviolet: What can you
tell me about ORDOG, Black
Funerals last release?
Akhtya Nachttoter: ORDOG is a study of the Adversary and the darkness
within the spirit.
Blissfulviolet: Can you elaborate more on how the band incorporates
Satanism combined with Persian Mythology?
Akhtya Nachttoter: Satanism is universal, multi cultural and without any
specific forms. Persian mythology is a well rounded study and presentation
of Ahriman as a viable form of the Opposer. Look to the Avesta and
Bundahishn, two powerful works which give much of the foundation of the
spirit of the serpent. Satanism is not found within any specific cultural
manifestation, the spirit is the action of the ideology.
Blissfulviolet: Does the Black
Funeral plan to play any live
shows in the future?
Akhtya Nachttoter: Not at the
moment.
Blissfulviolet: What has Black
Funeral been currently working
on?
Akhtya Nachttoter: WATERS
OF WEEPING, the new Black
Funeral CD. It will be unleashed
very soon.
Blissfulviolet: Do you feel the
black metal scene has changed
any since the band first started?
Akhtya Nachttoter: It has grown, become commerical, went more
underground and grown commercial again. This seems to be an ongoing
cycle.
Blissfulviolet: You are also a published author, what inspires your works?
And what have you released up to date?
Akhtya Nachttoter: My faith, magickal practice and developing ideology. I
have released several books - LUCIFERIAN WITCHCRAFT, LIBER HVHI,
BOOK OF THE WITCH MOON, ADAMU and much more in the works.
Blissfulviolet: A few months ago you released RITE OF THE QLIPPOTH,
which is interestingly a ritual working created in music. Can you tell me
more about this and how it’s been perceived so far?
Akhtya Nachttoter: It has been taken very well by those interested in
ritual music. It is used to utilize sound to work the transformation of self
through a series of spheres called the Qlippoth. It has proved useful thus
far.
Blissfulviolet: Any final comments for our readers?
Akhtya Nachttoter: Thank you for the interview.
Cold...Machine like is how founder Michael Ford (Akhtya Nachttoter)
describes his creation, Black Funeral. The Houston based band
has been creating blasphemous black metal since 1993. I've always
found this band intriguing with their unique visionary
black/experimental sound. It was great to be able to ask Ford a few
questions and learn more about the world of Black Funeral, as well
as his other endeavors.
