King Diamond continues his immortal reign, creating the finest horror based
theatrical metal.  His latest release, "Give Me Your Soul…Please," has
received tremendous positive feedback and is noted to be one of the
greatest King Diamond releases up to date.
The albums opening track "The Dead," sets the eerie mood to this musical
horror story, which is captured by sounds of an organ, meshed with the
haunting voices of King Diamond and  his wife  Livia Zita, whom you may
recognize from the previous release, "Puppet Master." What makes this
particular album interesting is that Diamond’s concept story is being told in
the present, not past tense like previous King Diamond releases.  The evil
horrors are happening right as you are listening to the tracks; allowing the
story to slowly unfold.  The main character of this tale is “The Girl in the
Bloody Dress,” who is vengefully out for King Diamond’s soul.  I’ll leave it at
that without ruining the storyline for you guys.
Fast paced and highly guitar oriented; "Give Me Your Soul…Please,"
definitely shows that King Diamond is not slowing down anytime soon.  The
entire recording is also amazingly clear; you can actually hear the bass
guitar, every arrangement and instrument the way it was intended to be.
Some of the albums highlights are: "Is There Anybody There," (which took
me back to the old Mercyful Fate days) "Mirror Mirror," "Shapes in Black,"
"Girl in the Bloody Dress," "Moving On" and my favorite track off the entire
album, "Black of Night."   Overall,
Give Me Your Soul…Please is the
strongest album that King Diamond has released in quite sometime, a
definite must have.
