Blissfulviolet: Greetings.....
Introduce the band, tell me how it
got it started?
Namtar: The band was formed
in the fall of 2004 by Woden and
Namtar. At first we were looking
for the band to be more thrash
oriented. The band name was
originally Atrocity. We thought
that we might get into some legal
problems considering all the
other bands with the same
name. After a while we thought
that black metal was a better suit
Blissfulviolet: Describe the sound of Nuklear Frost for those who
never heard the band before?
Namtar: Some of the main influences that have a impact on our sound
are Antaeus, Marduk, Sargeist, Impaled Nazarene, Judas Iscariot and
Weltmacht. It sounds like war oriented raw black metal with a little bit of
thrash touch to it.
Blissfulviolet: What projects is the
band currently working on?
Namtar: We are currently working
on the recordings for our "Wake Up
And Smell The Ashes" demo which
will be done in a couple of months.
Other than that, there isn't anything
we are working on.
Blssfulviolet: The band will soon
release a demo through Khaos
Legions. Can you tell me more about
this production and more about
Khaos Legions?
Blissfulviolet: What’s the black metal scene like in Minnesota? Does
the band get lots of support over there?
Namtar: Minnesota really lacks a huge scene as far as black metal
goes. The bands are very few and far between. However, what there is
of the scene is very supportive of each other which is definitely a great
thing.
Blissfulviolet: Why did you choose Black
metal as your form of musical path? What
does Black metal mean to you?
Namtar: Black metal suits the beliefs and
ideas we've had already. It is also the best
way to deliver them to others. To us, there
is more to black metal than just music.
The ideology of black metal steers you
away from the mainstream ideas such as
organized religion and trendy media. It
also helps one to develop own ideas and
beliefs, and become the individual.
Blissfulviolet: Who writes the lyrics to
Nuklear Frost’s songs?
Namtar: Both Woden and Namtar write
lyrics for the songs.
Blissfulviolet: What are the bands goals
for 2007?
Namtar: 2 most important goals, as
Blissfulviolet: Any final words you wish to shout out to our readers?
Namtar: Stay true to yourself and stay true to the underground.
for our personalities and our beliefs so not only did we change the
name to Nuklear Frost but we also switched from a thrash band to a
black metal band.
Namtar: Actually, we recently
dropped our deal with Khaos
Legions. It was an independent label
stated before, are definitely finishing up the recordings of our demo
and stabilizing the line up so we can play a few live shows around
here. Anxiously looking forward to it.
of a friend of ours. We decided that it was for the better right now for
us to go ahead and do everything on our own. We'll see how this goes.
We will also be looking forward to getting in touch with other labels
after the recording of the demo.
