Blissfulviolet: So tell me, what inspired you to
reform Spiritul Winter?
Scott Webb: Just a love for the music and
watching the music styles come back around. I
kept thinking, why aren't we doing that again?
There's nothing holding me back, lets just do it!
There's nothing like looking over a sea of
people that love your jams. I want that back. We
all do and we will!
Blissfulviolet: It must feel great to be back.
Scott Webb: Oh ya, the band is going over older tracks and recording new ones. We feel
that we have to at least play a few older tracks for our former fans.
Blisfulviolet: Sounds great, I'm sure they
will be pleased. What would you consider to
be one of Spiritul Winters great moment?
Scott Webb: That would be opening for
Malevolent Creation and Forbiddon in one
night in Houston, TX. And opening for Morbid
Angel in Houston. We've also opened for
Death Angel,Helstar, Impercation,
Incantation, those were some bad ass times.
We've headlined many times but got a bigger
thrill out of opening up for the big boys, ha
Blissfulviolet: Do you think the Texas metal scene has changed any since Spiritual Winter
began?
Scott Webb: It has and it hasn't.
Blissfulviolet: What inspired you to become a singer? And who are some of your all time
favorite singers?
Scott Webb: Well funny you should ask that. I started off as a guitar player for a metal band,
played for years. Then life took a turn for the worst and my baby son was killed in a car wreck
with what is now my ex wife. Well after that I couldn't seem to express my self on the guitar any
more, so I formed SW and began to scream at the mother fucker that took my son!!!!!!!! The
song Resurrection is about that. That’s also how the band got its name, he died in the winter of
91. The singers I like, well you’ll snicker at this John Arch of Fates Warning and Roni James
Dio. Not that I sound any thing like them but they sing from the heart.
Blissfulviolet: I agree, they do definitely
sing from the heart. Do you still play guitar
as a hobby from time to time?
Scott Webb: Some times but not often.
Blissfulviolet: Where would you like to see
Spiritul Winter headed? What goals did you
set for 2007?
Scott Webb: We'd like to pick up a good
label that won’t screw us, ha ha and jam with
some new bands.
Blissfulviolet: Sounds good. Any final
comments you wish to tell our readers?
Scott Webb: Just thanks for the support and we could use it, it’s been a long time since we've
hit the stage. And hope to see you thrashin......thanks again.
