The last time I saw Cryptopsy live was back in 2001 at the 'Bottleneck,'
located in Lawerance, KS. 'The Unspoken King' sounds way different
from their previous songs that I was able to hear though the Internet.
This is also the first actual Cryptopsy cd that I own.
Listening to an entire Cryptopsy cd for the first time, I noticed a lot of
funky time changes. This made 'The Unspoken King' a real challenge
to the ears. With this release, the band did expanded their boundaries
by incorporating different styles to their extreme metal sound.
I'm looking forward to seeing them live again. Many fans might be
turned away, but give it a few listens and you might end up liking it.
