Otto: Doing fine here! Just started working
on material for the next album and getting
ready for the autumn shows. Had a bunch of
very nice shows in May, June and July so

MidKnight Damaelle: If you could describe
your music in 5 words, what would they be?

Otto: Technical melodic death/thrash metal.
MidKnight Damaelle: Name a place you haven’t played yet, but would love to.
Otto: Japan and USA.
MidKnight Damaelle: Growing up name 5 of your favorite bands.
Otto: Metallica, Rage Against the Machine, Dissection, Offspring and Osdorp Posse.
MidKnight Damaelle: Life on the road can be pretty crazy at times, what are some of your
hobbies that keep you sane while on tour?

Otto: Usually drinking a lot gets the job done :) We usually also have a notebook with us to
watch some movies, and shit loads of cool music of course.

MidKnight Damaelle: What, in your opinion, sets you apart from other musicians in your
genre of music?

Otto: I think our blend of styles is quite unique, there are not many bands that combine the
extreme blasts and shredding riffs we do with so much melody, acoustic parts and clean
vocals. They're either brutal or kind of cheesy, so I think what sets us apart is variation.

MidKnight Damaelle: What is the craziest thing you’ve had to deal with when it came to
groupies?

Otto: Haha. Nothing comes to mind really, we don't have many groupies to be honest :)

MidKnight Damaelle: What do you hope for in the future for your music?
Otto: Hope we'll grow in popularity a lot, we're confident we do have the quality to be amongst
band such as Arch Enemy and Soilwork in terms of popularity, what we really need at this point
is exposure. We're in search of a new label right now and obviously much will depend on that.

MidKnight Damaelle: A message for your fans?
Otto: You guys & girls rule, without you we'd have quit a long time ago I think ;) Getting
messages from people saying they love your music, or even saying your music is helping them
through difficult periods in their life is really what keeps us going!

Otto: I think we'll all wish the same: for
Detonation to become as popular and
famous as possible! Our biggest dream
would to have as many people as possible
