Does the Pain Excite you emphasizes a style very similar to older In Flames,
but in a much darker aspect. Loaded with very catchy fast musical
components for each instrument, I especially enjoyed all the speed picking
and palm muting with the guitar riffs. I would definitely recommend this
album to fans of And Oceans newer work. Many different elements of metal
music including Black Metal can be heard in this album. I believe Morpheus
sees this project of his, something to express his more eclectic creative side
rather than just sticking to one specific genre.
I can tell also he spent quality time on figuring out the rhythmic input in his
vocals to add with the music. plus, I enjoy being able to understand the
lyrics, and I feel they fit very well with this style or should I say these styles
that he is playing. If you are a fan of Limbonic Art, you should definitely at
least give this album a chance, just to see how different the music is
compared to his other work. Perhaps it will open your mind a little more, or
you'll just think it sounds like shit. I applaud Morpheus for staying true to
himself in his work outside of Limbonic Art and seeing the necessities and
importance in exploring further his musical creativity.
