Ronnie Stixx:  Myself and the band are doing great.
Blissfulviolet:  Thats good to hear. The name Divine Ruins has been around for quite
sometime, What inspires you to be so passionate and dedicated to what you do?
Ronnie:  The fans.....it's all about the fans, plus It is in my blood i live metal...I eat, sleep, think,
shit metal all the time and  I never stop. The name Divine Ruins has been around for some
time, but it kind of laid in the shadow's for a short time...but now where back with whole new
line up: Sean Noone and,Ian Rendon on guitars, and Mike Canles on bass.
Blissfulviolet:  You guys have definitely kept up the power metal sound and flame burning in
Texas. What is currently in the works for Divine Ruins?
Blissfulviolet:  Greetings... Thanks for taking the time to do this interview. How are you?
It's going to be a good
record..it's heavy,catchy
Blissfulviolet:  For those who are not familiar with your band, can you fill us in with some
history of how Divine Ruins got started?
Ronnie:  Divine ruins was formed in the late 90's. The writing style was a little different from
what we currently sound like, it had more of a prog sound, a mix of Dream Theater, Fates
Warning I guess you could say. It had a lot of keyboard's in it. At the time we just want to show
the world how good we were and that we where just as good as any of those other bands out
there. We recorded the demo, then came the “
Sign of the Times" concept album which was
release by Century Media(CM DISTRO) and signed by Lone Wolf Music. We did a few festivals
and toured and supported some really cool act's. Divine Ruins will share the stage with Doro in
June.
Blissfulviolet:  Are you guys psyched
about this show?
Ronnie:  We are always psyched about
all the shows we do, you have to be. We
want to give the fans a good show.
Blissfulviolet:  What can one expect
when witnessing Divine Ruins live?
Ronnie:  A great show we try to bring
back the glory of the fist pumping head
banging where you could raise your
glasses high and walk away knowing you
had a good time at a great show. Look we
are an international signed band that
Blissfulviolet:  With the music industry changing throughout the years, how do you feel about
the Texas metal scene and Divine Ruins place in it?
Ronnie:  We have already made our mark on the Texas metal scene, but for us it is very
important that people take notice of who we are and where we are from. It has been some time
since a band came out of here.
San Antonio was once the metal capital of the world and we want to bring it back....In a way it
never really left, it's still here just waiting for some one or some band to ignite the metal flame
that once burned bright that metal world ues to look at for good talent and great metal. And as
for the music industry changing, we don't think too much about it. Look at the end of the day
new things, new style of music come and go. But metal will away be here, it has always been
underground. It's us against them.
That's what makes it true to what it is. It all comes down to have good songs and writing what
we love and what the fan's love... The power metal fans are the best in the world that's why we
do this for the fans without them we are nothing, it's all about the fans.
Blissfulviolet:  What types of lyrical concepts are present in Divine Ruins songs?
Ronnie:  As for the lyric concept. I like to write stuff that you can
Imagine, the story is taking you and pulling you in to another
world. I don't get caught up in what is going on in the world today.
I stay away from that, I want to escape all the bull shit of every
day life. I think everybody will buy the album when it comes out.
Check it for your self i think you will like it and get in to the
concepts of the songs.
Blissfulviolet:  What’s one of Divine Ruins greatest moments?
Ronnie:  Every one we had so far from the beginning have been
good ones even now, but I must say playing the Sunken Gardens
in San Antonio,TX was great. The festivals in BM, was good. As
well supporting some our favorite bands, we have many great
moments. We have been lucky to have done all these good
things and i feel we will keep doing great things. But it has taken a
lot of hard work to come this far, and it will take more....This is just
the beginning.
Blissfulviolet:  What does the future hold for Divine Ruins?
Ronnie:  Hopefully good things. But no one knows what the future holds, we have to reach out
and fulfill our own destiny.
Blissfulviolet:  Any final comments?
Ronnie:  Come out to the shows. Come talk to us, we always like speaking and hanging out
with the fans. Remember it is up to you to keep the metal flame burning!

happens to live in San Antonio,TX. The style of power metal that we write is different than what
anyone else out there is doing at the moment. It has catchy lyrics, it has melody and hooks, as
well as good heavy guitar riffs and duel harmonies. There is a lot of dynamic vocals going on
there, always changing and I think we pull off the harmonies well.
The name Divine Ruins is a name that has been around for many years
now.  Ronnie Stixx and the new Divine Ruins lineup have been
keeping the power metal flame alive, as they work on their new album,
"Kingdom of the Sun."
