Draupnir reigns from Paris, France. Their sound is unique; combining
classical melodies with black metal...a quality that is difficult to pull off
nowadays with so many bands sounding the same...But Draupnir has
succeed. Their first album, 'Black and Vicious' will be out soon; and from the
three tracks I've heard so far, I can honestly say that its a CD you should get
your hands on.

Blissfulviolet: Tell me about yourselves, How
the two of you meet and how Draupnir get
started?
Draupnir: We met in college. During the years
we shared our passion to the black metal and
to the classical music, and after some time, we
thought it would be good to make a band of
black metal very special. That was on
september 2005.
Blissfulviolet: Draupnir has a unique classical
approach mixed with black metal. What are
some of the bands influences?
Draupnir: The influences to the composition
are only many classical song writers (Bach, St
Saens, Chopin, Prokoviev, Rachmaninov...).

very good, we see a strong following, typically French (Anorexia Nervosa...). But like
many countries, there are many bands lost in the underground and, nobody or just
some people know that they are there, because they don't create a special black
metal... But a black metal that you can listen with 10000, 100000 or 1000000 bands.
The black metal scene in Paris is not the biggest, for sure !

to product the cd. This is Draupnir's
production name.

A friend shared his studio with us to record the
album during 3 months. We have worked on all
