Interview with Wulv
By: Midwest Viking
Midwest Viking:  Hails Wulv. A lot of personal
changes for you lately. How has the marriage
been for you?
Wulv:  Excellent, I have found a woman that fits
me to a "T". And she Hates people about the
same.
Midwest Viking:  Has your marriage had any
effect on your music at all?
Wulv:  Nothing Really, just made it better. I can
go on a tour or whatnot, and I know she'll still be
there when I get back.
Midwest Viking:  So what is the current status
for Funeral Dust?
Wulv:  Working on demo material for a promo cd to finalize a Records Deal which will be
announced upon it's confirmation.
Midwest Viking:  For a while there you had quite a bit of material that you put out. Was this
just a spurt or was it all recorded over a long period of time?
Wulv:  I recorded the first album the winter/spring of 2005 and released it in June. Unholy
Alliance I recorded that in Fall of 2005 and released it in November. Allegiance was recorded
in the Winter of 2005/2006 and was release in May.
I did want to get these albums out in a timely manner to help spread the flames of Funeral
Dust. The first album was the big project and the most costly. And the other two were Split cds.
I wanted to hook up with bands in Europe on these to help spread across the sea as well.
After that I turned my head back again at the US black metal underground, If I was to do
another split it would be with a North American black metal band. Right now we are in the
process of that. We are working on creating a 4-way split 12" vinyl.
Midwest Viking:  As you had mentioned label interests. Are you looking for the right situation
or something to just get your music a wider audience?
Wulv:  I have a very specific label in mind, if this falls through I have a few others. I want to
have a label to help spread the flames... And to help Funeral Dust grow. If I was not going to
look at these labels I was just going to stay D.I.Y.
Midwest Viking:  And if nothing works out will you continue to release your stuff through
Wolf's Lair?
Wulv:  Yes.
Midwest Viking:  Tell me a bit about Wolf's Lair as it seems quite different from most labels.
Wulv:  It's just a D.I.Y label to help promote Metal bands most of which are in my area. Some I
have come into contact with through the internet. I don't really use it much anymore I let
Funeral Dust stay on it's own. Most bands are well off or not active anymore.
Midwest Viking:  I know you write, record, and perform all you music minus a session
drummer on your 1st 3 releases. You mention working with a new member. Will he be
permanent or just a session guy?
Wulv:  Session, I am working with Xos the man behind Woe. And I am gathering my hordes of
unleash a  session of Live shows. We are not sure in which direction or how long yet.
Midwest Viking:  Where do you draw your single
biggest inspiration when writing new material?
Wulv:  Many Different Things, Varying from Nature,
Other Black Metal Bands to the Dark Realms of the
World Unknown... Ultimately the Single Creating Force
is my own Mind.
Midwest Viking:  How will the new album shape up to
be different from your previous material? Anything new
or better yet anything different you will be incorporating
into the new album?
Wulv:  That I will not know until it is in my hands...
Every release differs in some way, & It is easily heard.
However it never stops being US Black Metal.
Midwest Viking:  Will you ever play live, or do you
want to stay a studio band?
Wulv:  No, I would much enjoy playing live. I have
played live with my other project Permanent Midnight, & I would like to see what atmospheres
Funeral Dust could create in a Live setting. I have session musicians lined up right now, &
planning has begun.
Midwest Viking:  What is the status if any of Permanent Midnight?
Wulv:  No More, however we are releasing our Full Length album Lunar Hunger next year.
Midwest Viking:  What is the current state of USBM in your opinion?
Wulv:  Excellent, There are a lot of great bands in the states. Of course like in every scene
you must weed out the weak from the strong!
Midwest Viking:  Where would you like to see yourself in say 5 years?
Wulv:  Most likely working on my 7th release and then having a few small tours under my belt
with Funeral Dust. I can't give up this for it's apart of how I am. As long as I want to hear Metal I
will create it.
Midwest Viking:  Thanks for your time Wulv. It is always a pleasure to talk to you. Any final
words?
Wulv:  Keep Spreading the Flames of the Black Metal Underground World Wide. Thanks for
the Interview! Hail Fucking Darkness.
