Interview with A’ano’nin
By: Blackfire
Blackfire:  Hi A’ano’nin, that's an interesting
name you have, for those reading who do not
know it's meaning, perhaps you can explain and
also why you chose it?
A’ano’nin is a female vocalist for Gräuen Pestanz, a LHP occult-influenced band, that creates
dark ritualistic soundscapes. In addition to A’ano’nin the group consists of founder Marchözelös
and Vinum.  A'ano'nin is also an artist, aspiring author and U.S. distributor for Ixaxaar Occult
Literature. Currently working with band members on new tracks for an upcoming split release
with Black Funeral, she was courteous enough to answer some questions for me recently.
A'ano'nin:  “A’ano’Nin” is the guardian who
resides over the 26th Qliphothic Tunnel of Set,
the Shadow of the Devil Atu of the dayside tarot
ruled by Capricornus of the zodiac. When I was
first studying the work of Kenneth Grant’s
“Nightside of Eden” and “The Shadow Tarot” by
Linda Falorio, I seemed to be drawn to energies
that resonate with A’ano’Nin. Interestingly, later,
I was told by my Astrological advisor that I lack
Capricorn energies in my chart.
Blackfire:  How did you become involved with Gräuen Pestanz?
A'ano'nin:  I contacted Marchözelös for the "Ars Upir Sabati" demo, which was a raw occult
black metal release. I was highly impressed with him requesting some personally created
magickal item, art or ritual in trade for the demo rather than money. I sent him some of my own
sigilcraft for the trade. Several months later, he contacted me in regards to perhaps doing
some vocals for his other project “Corpus Principium”, a more darkwave/occult project done
much in the vain of old “Darkness Enshroud”. After several months of recording vocals for GP,
they asked me to be a part of “Gräuen Pestanz”.
Blackfire:  You have some exciting projects coming up, could you tell us more about them?
A'ano'nin:  Yes, we have a Gräuen Pestanz split EP with Black Funeral to be released on
Black Plague soon. For this album we created 2 tracks conducted as musical and magickal
workings of the Vampyric Essences. We also will be releasing the first “Corpus Principium”
demo “Of Nightshades”, to be a part of the “Death Posture Ritualis” collective, which is a small
label founded by Marchözelös.
Blackfire:   Where do your music and lyric inspirations come from?
A'ano'nin:  I do not feel that it is myself who writes my music; rather it seems to create itself
and that is what Magick is about. I am merely the vessel through which the musick channels
from the deepest, darkest abysses that human consciousness could never reach. When the
musick “possesses me” this way there is no need for any humanistic inspiration. As far as lyrics
go, they are yielded Words of Power utilized for the musical Ritual being conducted.
Blackfire:   What sparked your interest in the occult in general and LHP in particular?
A'ano'nin:   I would not say that anything in particular “sparked” my interest into matters of the
occult. It seems to me that I was born into this Path. It is something that has always been
existent, latent within my Being. I noticed my strong attraction towards the occult, Satanism
specifically, at a fairly early age, somewhere around age 11. It wasn’t until these latest adult
years that I truly began to delve fully into my Magickal Arte.
Blackfire:   Don't you think the magick of an artistic creation can be overlooked sometimes,
that the general idea of magick is rituals, spells, but that a lyric, a song, an art piece when
given proper intent can hold just as much power?
Blackfire:   What's it like being a female in the
occult world, do you find sexist attitudes and being
treated differently or are LHP magicians beyond
such type of things, and are able to
see the individual?
A'ano'nin:   Well honestly, I do not feel that I am a
part of any “world” other than that of my own, which
is actually quite small considering that there are only
a few whom I converse with on a regular basis. I am
very glad to be a female occultist of the LHP. I have
never been at the end of any female biases from
any male occultists that I know, quite the opposite in
fact, especially with those whom traverse the LHP
who realize the power of those very feminine/lunar
energies that the LHP currents are the major faculty.
It is my understanding that it is only the male/solar
cults of Judeo/Christianity/Muslim sects that inhibit
the feminine power. I know many men that would be very pleased to meet their female &
magickal-partner.
Blackfire:  What does the LHP mean to you?
A'ano'nin:  For me it is my Path of Self-Evolution and Eternal Ascension.
Blackfire:  You also do art, how did that come about?
A'ano'nin:  I began by scrying sigils and that evolved to my creating “automatic” drawings and
paintings such as those created by Austin Osman Spare, an admired occultist of mine.
Blackfire:  You have some interesting pets: three boas, what's it like raising not one but three
snakes? Do you have advice or wisdom to impart on anyone who has or is thinking about
purchasing one?
A'ano'nin:  Yes, I have 3 pet snakes, but they are ball pythons, not boas. I never actually
meant to have 3, yet 3 are what I wound up with and I love them all dearly. They are very fun,
amazing and low maintenance pets to have. People always seem shocked when I tell them that
they all 3 have their own different personalities, but it’s true. I would definitely suggest to
anyone interested in having a snake as a pet; go for it, there are many good snakes that need
good homes and somebody to love them. My advice for the future snake owner would be to
snake-proof a room before letting them out to roam around! “NO OPEN VENTS!” Or any place
they could get into but not out and watch them closely….haha.
Blackfire:  What does "darkness" mean to you?
A'ano'nin:  Darkness is the “Inward-Turning Eye”, the black mirror of Self where Vision is born.
Darkness is “NO THING”. It is through darkness that we find the light of wisdom.
Blackfire:  What do you think is the biggest misconception about LHP magick and those who
practice it?
A'ano'nin:  Others’ misconceptions are of no concern of mine, but my guess would be the
overall “generalization” of the term “LHP” to encompass all that is of Satanic/Luciferian nature,
when in fact, the “Left hand Path” specifically relates to the magickal use of woman as the
human embodiment of the Supreme Goddess; “Vama Marg”.
Blackfire:  Where would you like to be in five years, with your magick and your music, as well
as your personal life?
A'ano'nin:  Well, my personal life is personal. As far as where I see my Magickal Arte in 5
years, I have no preconceived notions about that; there is much hidden in the Shadows
awaiting my exploration.
Artwork by A'ano'nin
A'ano'nin:    Well, yes of course I feel that Musick
and visual Arte can indeed hold just as much
Power magickally, if not more so at times in my
opinion and I feel that the only people overlooking
the magick of artistic creation are those that
should not be looking in the first place. My Arte
and Music IS my Magick, they are one in the same.
