Interview with The Executioner By: Blissfulviolet

Out of hatred, fear and rage rises a new black metal band consumed with anxiety and straight from San Antonio, Texas...I give you 'Hordes of the Morning Star'.
|
Blissfulviolet: Give me some insight on the band, How
did "Hordes of the Morning Star" begin?
The Executioner: The sound is a very violent, dark, vicious sound that borders on hysteria
at times. Again, Mayhem's "Deathcrush" is the seminal album, we think, in establishing a pure
sound for black metal. Violence mixed with pain, hate mixed with fear, etc. The style of
(relatively) young acts like Craft is also very similar.
The Executioner: Pray For Death is a small DIY label founded by members of Intestinal
Disgorge, created to spread unique and extreme acts. The goal is to find bands that are either
highly innovative, or more extreme than their counterparts. Pray For Death releases things in
limited quantity with very unique packaging. For example, our debut EP "Torture" features aged
paper wrapping with sigil printing, aged liners, and a lightscribed disc. It looks pretty incredible,
to tell you the truth. I think Pray For Death is striving to show people that DIY can "look"
professional, but it doesn't have to have all of those strings attached.
Blissfulviolet: Tell the world where they can pick up
their copy of Torture?
The Executioner: Hordes of the Morning Star was
created in late 2006 because the two individuals behind
it (The Inquisitor and The Executioner) felt the need to
vent limitless levels of frustration and anxiety towards the
world, their personal lives, and their own human
shortcomings. The band felt that there was a level of
intensity and violence not often seen in black metal today
that needed to be brought back. Mayhem's "Deathcrush"
is probably the most influential album as far as the
violence and intensity is concerned.
Blissfulviolet: Describe the bands sound for those who are unfamilar with Hordes of the
Morning Star?
Blissfulviolet: The band just recently released the Torture E.P. through Pray For Death
Productions. Can you tell me a little more about this productions company?
Blissfulviolet: Now that the E.P. is out for release what lies ahead for Hordes of the Morning
Star?
The Executioner: We are going to send the EP out to a
few larger labels and see if anyone is interested in
picking Hordes of the Morning Star up. If that doesn't
generate much interest, we will release our first full length
through Pray For Death. It just depends on how things
turn out.
The Executioner: You can order "Torture" online at the
Pray For Death webstore www.pfd.cjb.net or through
the mail by sending $10 plus shipping ($2 US, $4 world)
to:

Blissfulviolet: Any final words you'd like to spew out to our readers?
The Executioner: Sure. Keep the flame of true black metal alive, and question everything.
