MOONSPELL - NIGHT ETERNAL

2008 - SPV Records
Review by: Blissfulviolet
After rerecording and revisiting their past with their previous 2007
release, Under Satanae; Moonspell is at it again. Their latest offering,
Night Eternal- shows great strength, dedication and makes it obvious
that the band gained some form of revitalization and yearns to return to
their musical roots.

Night Eternal combines perfect compositions of goth/black and death
metal, all done with style and integrity; taking it’s listeners on a journey
of pure bliss. Track after track, I was truly impressed; especially with
their incorporation of atmospheric keyboards and choirs.  If there is
one thing that Moonspell is best at accomplishing, it's distinguishing
and combining the fine line between beauty and brutality.  This album
made me realize why I became so interested in Moonspell, taking me
back to the Wolfheart era.

Don't expect Night Eternal to sound like their early albums though,
Moonspell is a band that experiments and has progressed throughout
the years and this album happens to be one of the best releases that
the band has dished out in quite sometime.

Anneke van Giersbergen, formally of The Gathering, makes a great
guest appearance by adding her beautiful vocals to the track 'Scorpion
Flower.' This just adding more of a reason to get your hands on this cd.
