Interview with Semiazas
By: Blissfulviolet
Blissfulviolet:  What's been going on new
with The Ritual?
Semiazas:  Well recently we just acquired a
new guitarist and he fits the bill perfectly. Our
keyboardist just got a Korg x50 and it sounds
fuckin awesome and we wrote a new song
with it.
Blissfulviolet:  What inspires and influences
your music and how would you describe The
Ritual's sound?
Semiazas:  Mainly what inspires us is epic shit
Blissfulviolet:  Where would you like to see The Ritual 5 years from now?
Semiazas:  In 5 years eh? well hopefully signed to a label and touring that’s really what we all
want to do, is just tour see new places and destroy new peoples eardrums.
Blissfulviolet:  How do you feel about the Texas metal scene?
Semiazas:  In my opinion the Texas metal scene has taken a turn for the worse with all these
new hardcore bands popping up thinking they can play their instruments when in fact they
suck. Black/Death metal should reign supreme but then again metal wouldn’t be metal if
everyone liked it.
Blissfulviolet:  You guys have been seeking a bass and guitar player, how has that been
coming along?
Semiazas:  Not very good it seems we can’t find anybody up to par with metal or they don’t
have a metal upbringing.
Blissfulviolet:  Do you guys have a certain method when creating The Ritual’s music?
Semiazas:  We try to retain the metal roots that inspired us to form the band but we also try to
make it as melodic and complex as possible.
Blissfulviolet:  I noticed that you guys
recorded some new tracks. Are you all
working on releasing a CD anytime in the
near future? (If so what info can you give me
so far?)
Semiazas:  Yes we are, but it'll be a little
ways down the road because we don't have
money for a pro recording and we are writing
some epic songs for the album.
Blissfulviolet:  If you could share the stage
with any band of your choosing, who would it
be and why?
Semiazas:  We would probably share the stage with Dimmu Borgir because that is an
influence all we share.
Blissfulviolet:  What got you guys interested in Black Metal music?
Semiazas:  Mainly what got us into metal was the incredible talent it takes to make and play
the music, also the scene and the look affiliated with black metal also the extreme hatred of
Christianity and its followers.
Hails
The Ritual is a fairly new black metal band based out of San Antonio,
Texas.  I’ve seen these guys perform from when they first started off plying
gigs and I must say that they have truly progressed.  Definitely a band you
want to keep your eyes out for.
that happens around us be it a movie i.e. 300 or a brutal video game whatever gets us
pumped up and wanting to kill something so we turn that anger and adrenaline (however the
fuck u spell that) into some epic and brutal music, but mainly hatred of the 'Core' genre.
